Mira fusibles y asegurate de la polaridad de la nueva batería. Quizás te has equivocado al ponerla.
Mide con un polímetro la batería y tiene que estar sobre los 12 Voltios más o menos.
El led de la X8 suele desconectarse automáticamente pasado un tiempo para no tirar de batería. Creo que a los 2 dias de no uso de la moto. Luego vuelve a su estado normal al poner el contacto, aunque por lo que dices suena más a que no funciona nada de nada.
